Sector Focus

IT for real estate

Mobile agents, e-signature, CRM

Real estate is the industry where our remote model fits most naturally, because the workforce was already distributed. Agents work from cars, coffee shops, listings and homes. An IT model built around visiting an office serves them poorly, since the office is frequently the one place they are not.

Wire fraud is the defining risk

Real estate transactions involve large wire transfers with predictable timing, which makes them a specific and heavily targeted fraud category. The typical attack compromises an email account, monitors quietly for a pending closing, then sends altered wire instructions at exactly the right moment. Losses are frequently unrecoverable.

Defending against this requires enforced multi-factor authentication on every account, correct mail authentication so your domain cannot be impersonated, filtering that catches lookalike domains, and staff trained to verify wire instructions by phone using a previously known number. All four together, because any one alone leaves a gap.

Mobile and device management

Agents use personal phones and often personal laptops. That is not going to change, so it needs managing rather than prohibiting. We configure email and access securely on personal devices, with the ability to remove company data remotely when someone leaves, without touching their personal content.

The application stack

CRM, MLS access, transaction management, e-signature and marketing tools, most of which are cloud services that agents access from anywhere. Our role is identity, access, security and integration between them, plus support when an agent cannot get into something twenty minutes before a showing.

Common questions

Our agents are never in the office. Does that work?

It works better, and this is the industry where our model fits most naturally. Support reaches agents wherever they are, and there is no expectation that someone drives to an office where nobody is sitting.

How do we prevent wire fraud?

Four things together: enforced multi-factor authentication, correct domain authentication so you cannot be impersonated, filtering that catches lookalike domains, and a verification procedure requiring a phone call to a previously known number before any wire. Technology alone does not solve it and neither does training alone.

Can you support agents who use their own laptops?

Yes. We secure company data and email on personal devices with the ability to remove it remotely when someone leaves, without reaching into their personal files. Prohibiting personal devices in this industry does not work, so managing them is the realistic path.
