Why Ocean

What actually makes us different

Every IT company claims responsiveness and expertise. Here are the specific, checkable commitments that separate us, along with the honest cost of each one.

Six differences you can verify before you sign

Ask any provider you are evaluating the same six questions. The answers will sort them quickly.

1. Every technician is our employee, in the United States

Not a contractor, not an overflow partner, not an offshore night shift. This is the commitment that makes the rest credible, because a provider who subcontracts cannot promise you continuity, accountability or consistent security practice. Ask any provider whether the person resolving your ticket at 5pm is on their payroll. Watch how carefully the answer is worded.

2. You get a named crew, not a ticket queue

A lead technician and a designated backup are assigned to your account and stay there. They hold your documentation, know your quirks, and do not need to rediscover why your accounting workstation has a static IP every time you call. Most IT problems are not technically hard. They are hard for someone encountering your environment for the first time.

3. Remote-first is a design decision, not a fallback

Our tooling, documentation standards, hiring and escalation paths were all built for remote delivery. There is no travel window, no half-day appointment block, no waiting until a technician is in your area. Work begins when the ticket opens. For distributed teams this is not a compromise, it is the only model that treats every employee identically regardless of location.

4. Flat monthly pricing, quoted before the work

Crew Care is priced per user per month. Your invoice changes when your headcount changes and not otherwise. Projects outside the plan are quoted and approved before anyone starts. You will never open an invoice and discover hours you did not know were being spent.

5. No long-term contract, and your data leaves with you

There is no three-year term to escape. You own your hardware and your licenses. If you decide to leave, your documentation goes with you, in a usable format, without a negotiation. This is worth asking every provider you evaluate, because the answer is frequently unpleasant and rarely volunteered.

6. We tell you when you do not need us

If your environment is already in reasonable shape, or the thing you asked us to quote will not pay for itself, we say so. We would rather lose a project and keep the relationship. Over twenty-two years that approach has produced more referrals than any marketing we have ever run.

The honest cost of all this

These commitments limit us. Refusing to outsource caps how fast we can grow. Capping growth means we sometimes have to turn away good businesses. Remote-only means we are the wrong choice for a company that genuinely needs a technician physically present most weeks. We would rather tell you that upfront than discover it together in month three.

Honest Limits

Who we are not the right fit for

Being clear about this saves everyone a wasted month.

Businesses needing weekly onsite presence

If your operation genuinely requires a technician physically in the building most weeks, a local onsite provider will serve you better than we can.

Companies shopping purely on hourly rate

We are not the cheapest line item available. If the lowest bid is the deciding factor, we will lose that comparison and we understand why.

Organizations above roughly 250 staff

Past that size you generally need internal IT leadership. We are happy to advise on building it, but we should not be your only technical function.

Anyone wanting a compliance certificate

We implement and document technical safeguards. We do not issue certifications, because no IT provider legitimately can.

Specialized industrial control environments

Heavily customized manufacturing control systems need a specialist integrator. We support the business network around them, not the controllers.

Businesses wanting a silent vendor

We will ask questions, push back on bad ideas and schedule reviews. If you want an invisible vendor who never raises anything, we are the wrong shape.
